Psychotherapy

I provide effective psychotherapy and cognitive behavioural therapy (CBT)specifically tailored to help tackle stress management, anger management, anxiety, phobias, workplace bullying, obsessive compulsive disorder (OCD), panic attacks and generalised anxiety disorder.  I also offer psychotherapeutic support and hypnotherapy to help stop smoking and assist weight loss and weight management.

Many people continue to suffer with problems, fears and anxieties for years and years until the day they decide to seek help and take control of the situation.  Problems such as those mentioned above are extremely hard to live with and the symptoms affect every area of life.

The philosophy is that change is possible and happening anyway, but that sometimes help and advice is required to ensure change is for the better.

This psychotherapy approach is based on the principle that many issues can be significantly improved during a brief and focused programme of therapy which breaks down issues in a manageable way to improve understanding of the reasons for and causes of the problem.  Psychotherapy uses the client’s own skills and abilities to plan and implement change.  Our Psychotherapy differs from counselling because it takes a direct, conversational approach.  A dialogue is set up between the client and therapist in which client can talk freely about what is bothering or upsetting them so that true understanding and insight can be reached.  Problem behaviour changes as thought processes become clearer.  Symptoms are reduced or eradicated and the client can begin to take control once again.

I am registered with the British Psychological Society (BPS) and General Hypnotherapy Register (GHR) am strictly bound by their ethical guidelines and regulatory procedures.

All problems are unique to the person with them.  Contact me for a telephone consultation to see if Psychotherapy can help.
